Last, time I did when I had my 91' I was told theres a counter meter ? I think thats what they call it it's somewhere under your dash needs to be taken down and theres a screw that needs to be turned back or forward not sure though cause I haven't done this since truck retired from severe damage and totaled out thats leaves me to my current 02' SXT Club Cab driver. Take a look in a manual such as HAYNES or CHILTON should give you the exact procedure to do this, what I see as a mechanic lot of people pull dash bulb out and go about there business but if you need to take for dealer service it will show up on there scanner or test equipment. Most autopart stores carry manuals for our trucks or go to public library or a good mechanic if your unsure what to.
