Message: I replaced the stock shocks around 50,000 miles ago with KYB's I would say the best shock I ever bought. I have a new set of Rancho's (RS 9000X with the cab control) and I really don't want to replace the KYB's the more I think about it.
I've used monroe's, gabriel's in the past on diff vehicles, I love my KYB's. thinking about selling the new ones even without trying em.

Message: I must say though, Rancho's aren't bad either, I just replaced my wife's shocks on her Durango from the Sensatrac's to a set of Rancho RSX's and it was a very well noticed change. The Sensatrac's aren't a good choice, wasn't even a year, and she doesn't put near the miles on I do.

Message: There are now around a thousand miles on the Monroe SensaTracks on the long bed Dakota.
I can't say the ride is appreciably better. The ride is different:
A bit smoother ride. When the road is wavy the front bounces far more. The rear has skittered a couple times, something that never happened with the stock shocks.

Message: I had a horrible rattle from the right rear of my car recently. It was the 4-yr old, 65K mile shock - Gabriel Pro Ryder HD. Not their bottom end product. And I do all highway driving. It passed the bounce test, but the entire upper shield was rotted away, exposing the rod. I replaced it with KYB GR2s. Seems great so far. I also had bought Gabriel Ultra struts, and they would not fit right, not centered in the coil spring. I had to take them back and have an OEM install.

Message: When i bought my truck the shocks were all original and its a 1997. The stock shocks were unbelieveably bad. Then again they were 10 years old. I replaced them with monroe sensi tracks. I had good luck with these shocks on my old car, but on the trucki should have gone with something else. They are a vast improvement over stock but i still get alot of wheel hop. I havent taken them off road yet but the camping season is here so give it a week.

Message: I finally punched my factory shocks out by hitting a cross road a little too quick, so i put some sensatracs in. (just the front)
I find that they are not stiff enough, the front end still has a bounce after hitting bumps...far worse than the factor ones did
