I see so many doing mods getting no resaults some
even running worse

Lets start with the basics here

You computer maintains a ratio of 14.7 to 1
and the plugs must have the light tan sandy
color or its not right

Before you try anything this needs to be addressed
and corrected

Mostly the o2 but having lazy sensors will trow
this ratio off

The computer needs the correct signals to maintain
the correct air/fuel ratio and the plugs need to
be tan color

If this is off nothing you do will help fix this
first than enjoy the power performance and
gas mileage your truck has to offer and the
power and performance increases the mods will
give you

The Air/Fuel ratio HAS TO BE RIGHT

this is correct! i did these mods and had noticeable performance. i noticed it mostly when i had a 180 thermo in but took it out cause i was afraid it would run too cold when it does get cold out. i put the stant 195 in and it seems i lost some of the performance i had. it hit me hard in the MPG as well. i had good color on plugs but for me i'm sure i need the o2 sensors replaced coming up on 72,000 miles. For now i put the IAT sensor back to factory to help with gas till i can get the money for o2 sensors. but man i still think that 180 thermo did big wonders cause i could even pull hard in 5th gear, can't do that with stock settings. i don't know if it was full flow or metered, how do you tell? it had a little tab thing on the outter edge that seemed like it would allow a constant flow of coolant past the thermo.

I have done a lot of things to my ole truck here late, and I'm stuck at 16 MPG. I did however get my F&B TB today. wrong linkage need new cable, but no biggie. Sam the man is on it.

2002,4X4,5 speed. (107,000 miles)

I have replaced the O2's (NGK) somehow my rear cat fell off, and I had to replace it with a pipe until I can get off work in time to get a new one. 1.7:1 roller rockers,MSD ignition, Volant cold air intake

I have all new sensors for the TB awaiting the install of the TB. I did adjust the TPS in the mean time on the stock TB, I have new IAT sensor to relocate into cold air side. Not really sure if I want to try the crank sensor mod as of yet. Halo Plugs, A few weeks I'm going for the Headers.

I drive mostly highway 96 miles round trip a day, running 70 to 85 mph on average. I'm hoping the new TB and sensors there will help some, but I think I'm just stuck at 16 MPG, unless I let off the throttle.

not being critical of your driving habits but, if you'd slowed down to about 65mph, you'd probably gain 1 or 2 mpg.

Up here northern wisconsin upper michigan border
you drive 60 miles per hour you get a ticket at
62mph

The only time I will cruse 65 70 is if I am in
a bounch of other cars crusing that speed

There are a few streches of high way 2 and 3
miles long perfictly straight there I will roll
90 100mph no coper stopers around there

The way you drive can make a big diff on mpg

My last check was city, high way and back roads
at 35 40mph 23.86 I just wonder what I would get
on a long high way shot

If I drive to milwaukee or chicago than once
I get farther south I cruse 65 70 but even than
I would get 22 24 but I have never done as good
as I am now in 40 50 degree weather was more
like 21 22 so I have gained

I do have a 120 mile straight high way trip
coming up in about 2 weeks and will find out

draging brakes
tight dry ujoints
mis adjusted or dry wheel bearings
front end out of line

All these things you never think about can hit
mileage big time

all synthetic fluids will help and a tonno cover
