Subject: O2 sensors - where? Best?
IP: Logged

Message:
Coming up on 80,000 m.
once and a while she sputters or misses in low rpms, when I hammer it.

Want to replace O2 sensor, as Ive done some mods, and I thought it might be the problem.

So whats the best O2 sensor (99 v6 - only 1 on y pipe right?)
and where do I get one?

Also, any Ideas on the sputtering at low RPM, while at WOT.

Thx all.

try jegs or summit online. i remember looking there and the NGK o2's were cheaper than on NGK's own website.

Why don't you check fault codes before replacing a sensor that may still be good? LOTs of other things cause your symptoms.

Your 99 has 2 o2 sensors

The NGK's at summit were $10 more never checked
jegs

At 80,000 I would replace both that is the
recomended replacement 60 to 80,000 and there is
a reason for that

While your at the ngk.com website get a set of
NGK V power plugs right away gap at .040

Now find a napa store or order online
napaonline.com MO26 MO28 cap and rotor these
caps have solid brass incerts

As long as your wires are good this will most
likly take care of your spudering

The plugs are recomended to be replaced at 60,000
miles

There's a pre-cat o2, in the pipe right before the cat and a post cat o2, between the cat (usually close to the cat) and muffler.

I do recomend the halo's but most people will not
pay the $8.99 they cost the next best thing is
the ngk vpower

Like the one guy here ran the ngk vpower 500 miles
pulled them out and they were white put the halo's
in and had no change in mileage or performance

Well of course he would notice no change if the
ngk were white something is wrong any plug no
matter what brand should be a light tan color
if not your air/fuel ratio is off

This is what gets me it makes people sceptical
what it is, is a poorly maintained and tuned truck
not the plugs or the mods bad sensors will not
always light the check engine light but some say
check the codes well there will be none but still
have bad sensors

The computer needs the right imputs in order for
it to do its job right and have the correct
air/fuel ratio

I have seen it so many times trucks running like
crap no check engine light plugs white fix the
problem and within 500 miles the plugs are a nice
tan color and all performance power and gas
mileage are restored

Like I said I wish I could check these trucks out
and find the probs these poor guys take them to
dealers and garages they scan them find no codes
runs like crap and they send them away saying
nothing is wrong its just sad
