Subject: o2 sensors and plugs IP: Logged
Message: 2002 3.9 sport 5spd
ok everyone is saying about a sensor in front and one in back. both mine are up front, i was under the truck and there are none in the back behind the cat. i have two small things on the left and right side exhaust up front off the engine that look like little miniature cats and right after those are the sensors, both on each side. Are both sensors the same?
also, i really want the halo plugs but just don't have $65 for plugs right now so will try the NGK vpowers. my truck has very very slight ping with the stock champs mostly when going to slow in a higher gear or pulling out. so should i get the fr5's or fr4's. Fr4's are stock heat range correct? Fr5's are one cooler right? I love when you go to the parts store and you ask for something that their computer doesn't list for your truck. they always question you why you're getting it and they're like "that's not the right plug for your truck" then you tell them that this forum you go to and talk to other people says to use them then they really go off! I've got some real a$$ hole parts store people here in Lancaster Pennsylvania. they swear they know everything but take their computer away and they don't know sh$t!!! thanks guys!

Message: You have a little diff system
yes both o2 sensors in front of cats are the same
they control air/fuel
bank1
bank 2
When they went to the obd2 system they had 1 cat
with a sensor front and rear of cat
In 99 they changed that on some trucks 2 cats
and 4 senors 2 front 2 rear
Also in the 99 and up trucks they are not all set
up the same you need to go with the system you
got on your truck
Why they did all this screwing around I do not
know it just confuses people even the dealers
don't know untill they pysicly look whats on
the truck
