Subject: V6 cyl. head rebuild IP: Logged
Message: I am thinking about rebuilding some heads for my 1998 V6 Dakota, and I remember reading about certain years that have better or larger ports than the '98. Does anyone know what years that was and what was better about them? Will they bolt-up to a '98?

Message: The heads are all the same
58cc chamber
The best thing to do is just remove the casting
leavings and a few bumps and smoth out the ports
They flow very well just clean and a light polish
not removing any material behond that
Porting the V6 heads the low end drops off very
fast
This is all that is needed unless you plan on
nitrious or a forced induction system

Message: 1993 is the year and i dont kno if they fit the 1998, they might, i have a 1993 and the valves are HUGE, but they are so large that they are know for chacking that piece of metal between the valves, i had to replace mine as soon as i got it, 2 cylinders on one side were cracked causing low compression, and the first junk yard replacement i looked at was cracked too. these heads have their draw backs but they do perform VERY well.
