Subject: 2002, 5 Speed Hurst Shifter IP: Logged
Message: I did some research, and decided to purchase one. Part number HUU-3910155, $175.95 from Summit.
It arrived today, and I installed it with the following Mod. (Cheap Mod too) I found this searching the web, and I wish I knew who really to give the credit to. Main thing is it worked, using original console, and shift boot (with a little pinch and tuck).
The original shifter-tower has spacers molded into the metal at the base, as the Hurst replacement doesn't. (resulting in, not being able to complete the whole shift pattern)
1) Use original base gasket
2) Place 4,(one per hole) 5/16 nuts into holes of gasket
3) Use original mounting screws
4) Tighten it all down adjust the stops on the new shifter, put the console all back together and DRIVE IT LIKE YA STOLE IT...
Hopes this helps anyone interested.
