Subject: NGK stuff IP: Logged
Message: went to NGK website looking for plugs and o2 sensors. i'm a little confused. I used their part finder for my truck and the FR6's are coming up. Read the FR4 would be running stock and the FR5 would be one colder, correct? Is their part finder outdated?
and o2 sensors, theres looks like a module of some sort and like 3 to choose from. they have OE identical, universal, then they are front and back specific. My o2 sensors i thought screw into the pipes on either side near the bellhousing. i didn't know there was one in the back too! how would you hook up these pack like looking things? actually if anyone has part numbers for plugs, o2 sensors (front and rear), could you please list them. are they universal sensors ok?

Up to 95 at least , only has one O2 - on the Y
pipe just in front of cat.
Newer , have a second O2 after cat.
Better with the 'O.E.M.'
no fiddling with joining wires to existing
connectors..

Message: ?, you can get an OEM replacement and not have to "fiddle" with any wires. they are plug & play.

is working right
The ngk plug numbers are backwards

Also they are rcomending a colder plug for the
00 and up trucks now they came with what they
caled the truck plug which was a colder plug than

the oem's don't look anything like what i have. mine look like the spark plug kind and the NGK oem's look like some kind of module, unless the pic is wrong.

I went and looked and seen it was the plug
could not understand when you said it looked
like a modual
A new o2 and a set of Vpower you will be running
good
92 to 95 .035
95 up .040
MSD System .055
My new halo's run fantastic $62 a set haloplug.com
they are #1 in my book the NGK Vpower is right
under the halo
The Vpower run so much better than the champs
or autolite you will notice the power improvement
right away and better gas mileage

Message: speaking of NGK stuff...I ordered a rear O2 sensor for my '98 3.9L. well, I got it, took the old sensor out and compared them..scratched my head..and realized that the conectors are different. the new sensor had a female end and the old one was male. I even double checked the truck harness and the truck is female in the rear...that sounded funny..anyways, I double checked the part numbers with NGK and they said I had the right one. they might have put the wrong sensor in the right box, but they went and looked at another one with same part number. that was a female also, so I'm like WTF? I even pulled the front sensor out and that one was female. thinkin maybe they sent me the front one but that didnt seem to be the case either as the numbers on the hex nut of the sensor didnt match either of the ones she had in her hands.
SO, my question is..
Does anyone know if their rear O2 sensor has a male or female connector? maybe my truck is different because its a 98, I know there's slight differences between the years. the chick gave me the number to the tech support but they were already closed yesterday, so i'll call them today and see if I can't figure this out. thanks in advance for any info.
