Message: Hey guys,
I am looking at replacing my clutch finally, as it is engaging and disengaging very rough. I was hoping you guys could tell me what you had paid for yours. Its a 99 4x4 5sp v6 sport. I have been told as much as 950 from Dodge(i hate the dealership here, always ripping people off and doing horrible work) What kind of clutch should i get? Stock, or performance?

Message: I have an 88 dak, with V6 5speed 4X4 and I bout a new clutch from auto-zone for about 150 dollars, that was a few years ago, and about 15,000 miles with no problems, works smooth and easy. I did the install myself, but I also rebuilt the engine at the same time, so it was easy to replace the clutch while the engine was out. I wouldn't think it would be too hard to do it yourself though if you want to.
just take the transfer case out, then the transmission and the shifter will have to come out before you can lower the trans. I could do the job in one weekend taking my time.
If you want you can wind up paying a bunch for a new clutch, I am sure most all of the parts stores have listings for just about any need, or price. Good luck

Message: be sure you check the flywheel for heat cracks
and warp
you can get it cut
the center force kits now also offer a recut
flywheel with most of there kits but you must
return your old one or pay the core charge
Also replace the throw out bearing this also comes
with the kit from centerforce depending what you
get
basic kit
clutch presure plate and align tool
next up includes throw out
next recut flywheel
a warped flywheel will still enguage rough even
with a new clutch
