Okay, I am getting ready to replace the timing chain in my 97 Dakota and have a few questions. I know I want to go with a double roller and the chain tensioner but what brand chain?? I've used the Comp Cams High Tech in the past, but what about on the magnum v-6? Also, It's known that advancing the cam will improve bottom end anyone have good results with this on the V-6? and lastly if I do advance the cam will I have piston to valve clearance problems being that I'm running 1.7 rockers? Here's a list of mods on the truck now. 48mm throttle body,360 air intake,ASP underdrive pulley, clutch fan removed(blackmagic 150 electric) JBA headers, Magnaflow muffler,Harland sharp 1.7 roller rockers, MSD coil,Accel wires, autolite 3923 plugs, 3.91 sure-grip rear.
Thanks,
Mike

The stock cam is best straight up

sam at http://www.socaldakota.com/

sells the JP Performance chain and gears for $75
also use the tensioner with this one of the
strongest chains out there

when you have the intake off gasket match the
port at the flange just use a gasket bolted
to the intake with some bolts and washers just
snug

You will see the over hang casting restricting
the port its bad I have seen these hang into the
port 1/4" so bad the injector spray hits it and
sprays back

Its a very bad bottle neck good for 5 to 10hp
just removing this

Also replace the plentium gasket and use some
high tack on the gasket
