Message: I have an 01 dakota 3.9 V6 2wd with 112k miles.. i currently average 12.8 mpg with mixed city and hwy miles and can get up to 15.9mpg with hwy only and that is really babying it. it also doesn't have near the power and get up as it use to. i have replaced all my oxygen sensors recently. I replaced my spark plug wires about 40k ago and my plugs about 60k ago. i am looking at replacing my plugs again but will they alone help me get back to where it needs to be or what other options should i consider? and what kind of gas mileage should i be getting?
-thanks, matt-

Message: I have an 02 dakota 3.9 2wd and just turned 70,000 miles and was getting really poor performance and i do all highway driving. Put new factory plugs in, new cap and rotor and the wires are performance wires and only about 3 years old so i left them on. The cap was completely messed up. when i took it off it was all white and ashy inside there. Put a new one on and what a difference! also made sure no wires were touching on metal valve covers especially the coil wire. this makes a big difference too from arching

Message: Get a new air filter every 15K miles. Keep tires inflated - they'll kill 2-3 mpg. I have a totally stock 92 Dak 4x4 club cab with V-6 and auto and cap, and I get 20+ mpg highway. You should, too.

Message: i've got an '00 QC 3.9 5spd 4x2. get 22 or better on the highway. 17-18 city. only thing not stock is a v8 tb and plugs 1 range colder than stock. removed that stupid snorkel out of the air box and cut almost the whole front of the stock airbox open. if you want mileage you want hot air and as much as you can get.
