Subject: Dropping oil Pan on a 4x4 IP: Logged
Message: Ok i have a 97 3.9L 4x4 with a 5 speed. I know i need to drop the oil pan as im getting real bad oil pressure and im guessing the screen and pickup tube are plugged(Guy i bought the truck off did nothing in the terms of repairs or maintance)
Now is there anyway on pulling the pan without having to remove the engine mounts and getting an engine houst and pulling the starter. I know i have to lower the front axle Pain in the ass as is why should i have to tear more stuff off then i have too right.

Message: You can usualy get them out by taking 1 motor
mount off and jacking that side up
yes there a pain
try running some sea foam thew it for about a
1000 miles 1 can and also be sure your guage
sender is good located by the dist sticking
straight up you can unscrew this and use a
manual guage also to check presure
unplug wire guage should read 0
ground wire and it will read full
this will tell you if guage is ok
have fun

Message: be careful with the sea foam if there is a lot of crud build up it can loosen it all up and make it worse
