Message: i just put in a set of ngk v-powers in my 2001 3.9 today. They seem to have smoothed out the idle quite a bit, didnt really get a chance to drive it though. The old plugs were bosch platinum +2's. they looked like they were in pretty bad shape, the two prongs were white/gray and they were prety black in general. looks like im running a little rich. might be time to change the o2's??

Message: black is bad get over to ngk.com and get those
o2 o2's replaced ASAP
in your obd2 should gap the V power at .040
I tried the bosch +4 once idled ok but reved
like crap so my brother tried them in his jeep
4.0 and they turned black and fouled in 15,000
miles
I than gave him a set of autolite AP5224 and they
have been in his jeep for like 3 years now and
no problem in 40,000 miles still runs great
and he gets 26mpg with his 91 over 200,000 on
the jeep and still drives it every day
he also uses synthetic oil
