Subject: stuck oil filler cap IP: Logged
Message: So...any thoughts on how to get off an oil filler cap that is stuck. Plastic part just turns and clicks like if you were overtightening it. Not sure how to approach this problem, but hoping a hammer need not be involved.

Message: try pushing down on it while turning it or pulling on it while turning it, might just go!

Message: Soak a small rag that is just big enough to rap around the cap with some good penetration fluid . NOT WD40. Spray around the cap and quickly apply the cloth. This is to help keep the fluid working longer. Let it set 30 minutes, COLD ENGINE, And do it again. 30 minutes later, get a good grip on the cap, push down hard as you can and turn. It should come right off. Always be sure the cap seal has some oil on it before installing. High temp grease works best if you have it. Last resort. pry the plastic off the cap and remove with pliers.
