 Subject: Annoying electrical mystery

'00 3.9 5spd back up lights no longer work. They used to flicker on and off but now dont work at all. Checked where wiring harness connects to side of transmission, seemed fine, dont have my voltmeter with me right now. Fuse fine. Any obvious things to check? Any thoughts appreciated.
