Subject: Intake manifold ? IP: Logged
Message: Just a question about the intake manifold.
I recently took my throttle body off fo a cleaning, I had felt inside the intake manifold just to feel how much buildup had been inside. When I felt inside, instead of beaing a chalky buildup, it was more like an oily substance. Is that bad? Im not a mechanic obviously, but I am curious.

Message: nothing to worry about....its blow by from oil on the sidewalls of the cylinders burning the oil in the crankcase... then its recycled again to the throttle body to be reburnt for the emmissions.....just use some brake clean not carb clean,,,as brake clean evaporates and leaves no residue........
