Message: digital voltmeter, yes. it will be no more than 5 volts dc. so whatever range will cover that like 0-10 vdc. set it around .7 to .75 with the throttle closed. be careful not to overtighten the screws because you can put the TPS in a bind and it will not work properly.

Message: Just installed my new MSD 6a box, got a 2001 3.9L and didnt need the tach adapter by the way, so if anyone else plans on doing this, dont buy the adapter. Got some cool looking patterns on the scope today, and at 2000 rpm i was burning 0 HC's, 0.0 CO and 3.4 Nox, along with 16% Co2. Very efficient, even at idle it burned 28 HC ppm. just figured i'd post my results...

Message: Just wondering exactly where and how to move the IAT sensor the way Larry said to? I'm confused about that. Another question is that I have Autolite XP 3924 sparkplugs in my truck ('95 SLT dakota 2x4 with the 3.9 and 120000 miles) and was wondering if they would work good with all these modifications? Thank you very much for any information.

Message: For plugs personally i like the NGK Iridium IX, they are expensive, but will last way longer and smooth out the idle more than platinum plugs, plus autolite is truly a lame plug

Message: I also installed the MSD6a a few years ago and it did nothing BUT throw codes. So do yourself a favor and get the tach adapter anyway. Or else you'll get stranded along the road.

Message: Just an update and question.
I have a 02' V6 CC in California. I just did all of the stated MODS except FMS. Thanks Larry!
I DID NOT hook up the Tach Adapter and I am not getting any codes. I do have it in case, but it has been about 100 miles and still no code.
The only problem I have is this...
When I start my truck it does not fire as quick as it used to. I used to be able to just turn the key for a split second and it would fire up. Now it takes a little longer. Is there a reason for this? I would assume that with the 6a I would still get the same start up.
What do you think guys?
