have a 97 dodge dakota with a a500 trans
i keep getting a p0748 code ive replaced all Solenoids and Govenor pressure Sensor
still geting the same code but to shift i have to shift by hand 1- 2- and D to drive
it is driving crazy need help please thanks

you need to check the electrical connection
drivers side by shift lever clean and spray
out with contact clean, break clean carb clean
or just starting fluid this will remove any
mosture in the plug

both sides plug and on trans

also a bad ground will also cause this check
grounds

one other thing you may not want to here is I
have gotten new sensors and sols that were bad
new but bad chrysler is awre of this and will
give you another new set free

just some things I have run into

also in the cooling line there is what looks like
a valve what it is, is a check valve to help
with converter drain back these sometimes stick
and will cause problems like you described

remove or replace do not try to clean or fix this
it will just happen again

not all trucks have this but check it out

these are all common probs with the RE trans
