Subject: Heat IP: Logged
Message: I got a new problem guys, my dakota wont switch the heat over, it jsut stays on defrost, i switch the switch to vent and floor and it doesnt change, jsut stays on defrost, is this vacum related?

Message: same thing happened to mine. what year is it? in mine, if you pop the hood and look on the drivers side there is 2 very small vaccum hoses that come out of the firewall and lead into the cab above the brake. if they got ripped or if you did sumthing under the hood they could of broken. thet should be to the left of the heater fan(big black circular enclosure hanging on the firewall, think thats what its called). I had to go to the junkyard to get the little hose, and if you get one it should only take like 10 mins to change out.

Message: Check under the dash close to the center on passenger side close to the blower motor. I think there is a small box that has color coded vacuum lines going into it. Check these for dry-rotting and breaks.
