Message: it has been a while since i last came to this page but, my truck still has that nice low grawl at idle, i have learned that when i go thru a tunnel in the city, i get a dead zone around my truck, LoL, the sound coming out of my Duals is so loud that people back off at least 250' its awesome. when i put duals on i didnt really realize to much low end power loss, but i did notice just a little bit, not so much that i cant deal with, but she has High end to HEll! she'll go from 55 to about 85 in just a matter of seconds. im trying to find a Drop In Bedliner for it too. i have gone thru HELL trying to find someone that can get them. the local dodge dealer Starr Motors in Suffolk, VA said that anything older than a 98' mopar quit making.. i have a deal im tryin to work out with Performance Tire and Rim about a bedliner Over the rail, and tailgate piece. next thing is a new paint job to cover up Dodges not so good paint job for those years.. some of yall know what i mean.

Message: I recently bought a new Dakota Quad with a 4.7 Mag V-8 with an auto trany. I would like to install duals coming off the cat. How would this affect the idle and highway performance on a 4.7? I can get the job done for about $250.00, Would it be worth the performance and sound I would be picking up? I'm a "child" of the late 1950's and early 1960's when "glass packs" and "hollywoods" ruled the streets. Would I be disappointed? Any recommendations on mufflers?

Message: As far as highway and idle duals will help your highway mileage and performance and shouldn't affect your idle. The whole thing with duals is that for the increased HP and mpg you get at highway speeds due to increased flow you loose in lowend torque because of the loss of backpressure. For generaly highway use though it should be the way to go.

Message: i noticed that someone said they had a loss in torque from making the exhaust into duals. Is there a good way to get dual pipes and good sound, but keep the torque? Im planning on running 33" tires on my 2wd v6 2000, but I was wondering if im going to loose the torque should i look at the 4.56 gears instead of the 4.11? Any help would be great.

Message: Just wondering how you were gonna fit 33s under a two wheel drive. Go with dual cats and dual mufflers and that'll help keep the torque with a true dual setup. If your just splitting post cat go with just dual mufflers.

Message: No, going with a dual exhaust setup of any kind your going to loose some torque. But the loss in torque is due to a loss in backpressure. So, if you can add some back pressure you'll help the torque loss. There is a fine line however between volume and backpressure. Typically the louder the exhaust the less backpressure.

Message: The guy who first responded to your question doesnt know what the hell hes talking about. dual exhaust would be fine on a v6 and if you were that worried about it you can just go with a smaller diameter pipe like 1 3/4" or 2" but i wouldnt recommend going just straight pipes without mufflers.if you want loud go with 40 series flowmasters or if you want more of a brassy low tone like on a porsche or lamborginni than go with a 30 series flowmaster or the 50 series delta flow flowmaster.
