Subject: Any Explanation? IP: Logged
Message: Ive noticed if i have the heat on and im in 3rd gear and give it gas, my fans will stop blowing the heat out but the second you let off it cuts back on. my stepdads ford does the same thing, so i guess its not just a dodge thing. it has to be vaccum related right? should i check for clogging or is it a mechanical problem. thnx

Message: It's vacuum related and it's normal. When you step on the gas and vacuum drops, the heater box door defaults to the defrost position momentarily. The fan itself is not affected, it's re-directing flow to the windshield.
Some MoPars have a re-designed check valve at the power brake booster to reduce this problem.
