Hey there guys, so I was looking on the net at F&B throttle bodies, and I was looking at the 50mm Billet throttle body for 96-03 Dodge V8's, and I drive a 2002 dakota with the 3.9L, and I was wondering if this throttle body would work on my V6? It also says there is minor modifications to your factory airhat, so what would all be involved in the modification? and how much would this throttle body change my fuel mileage? Thanks a bunch guys. I really appreciate it

To answer your over all qustion, YES the 50mm will work with your dakota. If i remember right with the factory air hat you have to cut out some of the inners, you'll see when you get it, its not that hard. This throttle body wont change your MPG if anything it will hurt your mpg but thats only because when you first get it you will be temped to use the new HP. Your lowend tq will stay the same if you dont enough mods otherwise you will feel a lose with the 50mm. This why so many people suggest to get the 48mm because unless you cam your dakota or force inject your dakota the 50mm is really pointless cause you lose or dont see a gain in your low end. Which is why i cant wait to cam my dakota.

what good does it do to put a 50mm over the
48mm bores in the manifold

I tell ya it creates a low end flow prob
resaulting in a serious low end torque loss and
throttle response very bad

the 48 f&b will flow 660cfm
fastman 46mm 625 635cfm
stock 400cfm
