Message: Mike, if your timing is jumping that much at a steady idle, depending on the miles on your truck, you could need to replace the timing chain and gears.

Message: Ok! it's running GREAT again! Not sure exactly what I did, but it has to do with the wire splice under hood. I never found the exact splice you all talked about, but after messing with the harness, I guess the connection wiggled back into place.
The only thing now is that my headlights (lo-beam), tail lights and dash lights will not work. Hi-beam and brake lights works fine. I replaced the switch so it's not that. Are those wires also in that same wireing harness?

Message: I've read that it could be the hi-beam selector switch on the column. Would it act like that if it was bad? You know, no tail-lights and dash lights, only high beams???.........weird.

Message: check the fuses, somehting could of shorted n blown a fuse while u were "wiggling" the wires. just a simple check might help

I pulled fuse #8 (tail lights) and it was blown!! I thought I checked it, but I guess not!
