Message: Could be your battery starting to go bad...? Other than that I'd say the IAC isn't working properly. When you changed the idle motor (I'm assuming the IAC on the back of the throttle body, right?), did you reset the computer? You may need to reset it for it to recognize the new one/new readings.

Message: have the battery load tested. a weak battery will cause a funky/no idle when first started.

Message: Quit worrying about your battery. What you have described is what you get when the IAC fails. Check it out.

Message: Batteries DO cause similar issues that will make people (including me at times) jump right for the IAC.
Yeah, I think the computer needs reset... unhook the negative battery terminal, turn key and hold in 'start' position for about 30 seconds or so. Hook the negative terminal back up. Start the engine and DO NOT touch the gas. If it dies, wait a sec and repeat. If it stays running, let it idle for about a minute or two. Shut it off. Restart it and let it idle for a couple more minutes. Shut if off. Restart it and drive it. See if that fixes your problems.

Message: besides, checking the battery is free. an IAC isn't. if the batery checks outthen look to the IAC.

Message: Yup...that's it...if you replaced it without resetting the PCM, I think that could very well be your problem. I know when I swapped throttle bodies a while back, I was too lazy to swap all my sensors over so I just swapped all my sensors too and started it up. My truck wouldn't idle AT ALL without me holding my foot on the gas til I reset the PCM...then all was fine.
And I know all about wasting money on parts I don't need...I'm STILL trying to track down my tranny issues and I wasted $70 on a new TPS sensor. Ah well...now I got an already modified spare if I wanna redo my "TPS Mod"...lol

Message: lol, no problem...speaking of IAC's, I finally got around to cleaning mine. My truck is finally able to idle properly again. It kept dying when I'd put it into Park.
Of course in the process I also ended up f*cking up my tv cable...new post about that coming shortly...
