Subject: low gas miles and low heat IP: Logged
Message: i own a 2000 cc dakota with a 3.9l engine. over the past few weeks ive noticed ive been gettin lower miles per tank and wonderin why?? ive kept it all good with more than normal maintince. also ive been havin low heat inside the cab, i put in a new heater core a few months back and ran fine. any advice would b great thanks

Message: Thermostat May be defective opening to fast or not closing all the way. You can contribute some millage to the low temp and the rest to winter mix fuel that lowers millage on all cars/trucks. You might try running a higher test but I really doubt the difference would off set the higher price provided there is a difference.

Where I live we have a couple of single digits days with below 0 at night and my gas mileage was bad like 9 mpg now i am back to 16 mpg and little heat.
