Message: Does anyone know any quick tricks that could give me some of my compression back?? I've heard of spraying a mix of bleach and water into the plug holes and letting them rust, but that sounds dangerous ie. oil and water. I've also seen these little pellets that you can put in the plug holes and add some kind of special oil in the crankcase and it's supposed to "fill in" the worn areas of the cylinder walls. This also sounds dangerous. ie. pellets hit plugs. any advise would be great.

Message: Glad to hear you're back up and running. As for gaining back compression...that's a mechanical issue that really can't be given back completely with oil additives. However, you can try using the "Engine Restore" oil additive found in most auto parts stores...it worked on my old motorcycle and a few techs actually swear by it. Don't bother with the rust "myth" or pellets.

Message: I ran some in my '91 4.3 S10 and it ended up causing the motor to knock. It is really thick stuff, I would not recomend using anything thicker than 5W on it. Damn that pissed me off.
