Message: I think i can get a 73 dodge truck with a good stong 318 for 500 bucks, I dont want to buy it unless i know it will go into my 87 dakota without much hassle... any ideas?????

you can run the carb and the 73's stock ign
and dist
use all the senders from the V6 you would need
no o2 sensor this way or get a V8 comp and
a
wait here the 87 is carbed LOL
no rewireing nessasary
in 1988 they went to a roller lifter and cam
with throttle body 86 87 carbs

Message: What about the motor mounts? 318's up to 91 have a completely different mounting system than the V6 and 92 and up V8.They also have no provisions on the block to mount the Dakota style mount.Also it takes a Dakota oil pan and pickup,The 73 truck sump will hit your engine crossmember.Whats your definition of "not much hassle"?
