I keep having a weird noise and was wondering if anyone else has had the same noise, ive been driving down the interstate and around 55mph at 900rpms theres a noise that sounds like radio interference coming from my hood and then i had to slow down for whatever reason and noticed that the sound happened again at around 45mph at 600rpms. The sound doesnt accrue at any other point other then at those two. Ive noticed the noise before but thought it was because the engine was cold because once it warmed up the noise never happened again. It is -4 degrees on the way down. soo maybe it was just that but i thought id ask just in case.

Do you hear the noise during acceleration? or just at cruising speed?? Is it a clatter noise like it could be the valves but coming from the front of the engine behind the water pump??

its during both. if i accelerate then i can hear the noise but its brief if i cruise at 55 or 45 mph then the noise is very loud. The noise kinda like a whistle almost. If it is a clatter is not very noticeable.

Remove your air filter assymbly and run the engine. If the wistle is comming from the back (towards the cab) of the throtle body then is probably the IAC (Idle Air Control.) About 50 bucks at NAPA

and
you're doing 55 MPH at 900 RPM
what do you idle at 100 RPM LOL.
first thing fix your tach, It's obviously slipping and making that noise...... LOL

hahaha oops i forgot to put a 1 in front of those two for whatever reason. 1600 and 1900. wow do i feel stupid now.
