Subject: Heater Core Again! IP: Logged
Message: I have 98 3.9 2wd, in November 05 I replace the heater core. Now 1 yr and 2 months later I am getting a slight amount of steam and coolant smell out of my vents. I know heater cores don't go that fast, but I can't think of any thing else that would cause that. I check all hoses I could going into the firewall all appeared to be tight and no leak anywhere visible on the engine. Anybody know what could cause this or what could possibly cause my heater core to go out so quick?

Message: The ALM cores will take on a static charge
causing prematudre caroasion and failure the
system should have been flushed and collent
changed
or who ever put it in either bent a line cracked
it or hit the core
its unusual for one to go out that fast
or a bad cap not releasing pressure 15psi no
more or the wrong cap
or it was a bad one from the start
