 Subject: 93 water pump

Changing the water pump on a 93 Dakota 3.9L engine. Just wandering, The big nut behind the fan, is it reverse threads or do I go the regular counter clockwise with it? Also, what is the easiest way to get it off without special tools?

The nut will loosen In the direction the fan turns and tighten in the direction the fan does not rotate.

reg right had threads
unscrews counter clockwise
a big screw driver catch it and give it a wac
works every time
I got one about a month ago where the shaft
wore so much it snaped off LOL
This poor gal was just shaking from the noise
it made when it broke 2 little kids in the truck
and very cold out
I took them all to the shop and than sent the
boys back for the truck
an old 91 club cab long box with a topper than
she was so upset did not have the money to fix it
I put a new pump in and let her pay $25 a month
no labor just for the parts at my price
I felt sorrie for her 10 miles from anywhere
lucky I drove there that day
