Message:
I have a 98' Dodge Dakota v6, odd issue, the truck when sitting still heats up fine, fan go on and off as it should no problems. However, moving the truck will not warm up and temp gauge will drop all the way to the left, fast if I leave idle until warm, the heater blows warm are if sitting still but as the temp gauge drops the heater air gets colder. I change the thermostat and issue remains, any ideas?

Hope you saved the old thermostat. You need to take the new one out and compare the 2 of them. I believe you will either find a difference in the size (new one smaller) or the outer edge may be shaped differently. If you bought the thermostat from a parts store, it is not uncommon for an off breed brand to try to make a given model so it is supposed to work in more engines then it normally would. Now if you do have the old one, take it with you to the parts store to get the proper replacement. If you threw it away already, go to the dealer for one.
