have you tried here?
http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/index.php
if you mean "display codes" if you have a '00 or newer you could turn the key on/off/on/off/on and the codes display in the odometer. when it's finished it reads Pdone.

Yes I meant display codes and my truck is a 99 Dodge Dakota Sport with auto transmission and 4X drive.

the key trick won't work on your '99. you can go to Auto Zone and they will read the codes for free.

The key trick will work it will show a P0 code on the odometer display. It works on mine and both of my parents, my brothers, hell everyone i work on at she shop i work at.

What are the years of all these vehicles you refer to Eddie ? To the best of my knowledge, daddio is correct; trick doesn't work for '99.
