Subject: P0300-03-04 codes? IP: Logged
Message: I've gone through this forum over and over looking for some help and can't seem to figure this out.
I've tested (checked resistence) the spark wires (good), changed cap and rotor, changed injectors, changed IAC sensor. Dam thing still pops these codes. What should I be looking for at this point? Overall the truck runs good but it has some vibration at idle which I would like smooth out.
If Larry is out there or anyone with experience I could really use some ideas. I live in Vegas and would take it to a shop if I thought they could do it but once you clear the codes the check engine light doesn't come back on for 10 miles or so. Just seems it could be anything at this point.
Thanks

Message: well, i dont know what those codes mean but i might have the same problem. I had autozone check why my check engine light was on and the code translated into "multiple cylinder misfires." I'm going to replace my cap and rotor with all brass contacts and get a set of MSD 8.5mm wires or the Taylor 8mm. other than that, I might eventually change my injectors. Ive heard the ford racing ones work pretty good. I dont have the specific model, but I know it has 4 holes instead of the single hole on the OEM ones.

Message: P0300 is random/multiple cylinder misfire. It could be a side affect of the P0303 (Cylinder #3) and P0304 (cylinder #4) misfiring. I would address the problems with cylinders 3 and 4 before trying to correct the P0300.
possible causes are:
bad spark plug (or incorrect gap)
bad spark plug wire
bad coil
bad injector
bad exhaust valve
bad compression in cylinder
bad PCM
bad cap
Easy cost effective thing to do, reset light, swap plug and wire with another cylinder that is not throwing the code.
If the code follows that plug and wire you narrowed it down to that plug or wire. Then swap just the wire, if code follows that wire it's that wire, if not it's that plug.
if code does not follow plug and wire swap it could be injector could be compession could be exhaust valve, could be coil.
did you put in new injector or one from another cylinder? If another cylinder, are you sure it didn't come from the other throwing the code?
