i have a 1993 dodge dakota 2wd 3.9 v6 i found a 360 v8 for it... i know the motor will fit but the motor comes with a good 904 tranny and i was wondering if that tranny will work with my truck it has the A-500 in it right now, and i know a 727 will fit with a custom mount so i was wondering about the 904....please reply ASAP if u have any info, thanks for your time

a six cylinder trans will fit up to the 360 but the torque will kill it over time if ya got a heavy foot.... the clutch packs in the tranny arent strong enough.... done it tried it fixed it with trans out of a RT... customer hasnt had a problem sence...

I dont think you need a custom mount for the 727.I have replaced several of the overdrive transmissions in some of my fleet vehicles with 727's. I bought 10 brand new 727's from vanderhaag salvage that came from the winnebago factory. If I remember correctly all I had to do was reverse the mounting bracket on the trans crossmember and I think flip the mount around backwards.Of course the driveshaft length was different.I even had to take a die grinder and make a spot on the trans case so my ignition pickup could bolt back up.

Yes its fuel injected its out of a 93 dodge dakota the motor runs great and would include everything it needs

the motor has about 150,000 miles on it but it runs great i just put a new timing chain and gears in it about a year ago and yes it comes with the wiring harness and computer and i live in Indiana

The 904 trans is the same as the A500 with
the exception of the overdrive on the 500.
904s lived behind 360s for years in cars
trucks and vans and I put a 360 in front of a
904 in a 73 Charger and flogged it
mercilessly.
