Do the '96 3.9 Daks have a fuel filter? If so, where is it located?

Thanks,

I am sure that every vehicle released for a long time has some type of fuel filter on it. I am not too for sure about the location on the pre '97s, but I would first check on the driver side frame rail. Then if you cannot find it anywhere else better check in the tank. I know that the '97 and newer are all one piece in the tank.

In the tank=part of the fuel pump assembly..
Does not seem to be available separately..
Actually two filters one at the bottom of assembly
and one inside..
The bottom one looks like an air filter with a steel
plate at the bottom covering the 'opening'.

1994 dakota,3.9l v6 two filters in the tank.I bought them separately. Wait til you are low on gas and drop tank, two straps and filler spout. Not hard. make sure when you reinstall assembly that the arrow lines up with marks on tank or your fuel float will hit the tank and not go past 1/2 tank

The one on the bottom I usually call a Kotex because that it what it looks like on most vehicles. I bought the hole assembly for my truck for about $260. Not the cheapest piece I have bought for this truck.
