Message: I have a 93 rc v-6 5spd. The engine, clutch, u-joints all have 13,000 miles. It has a bad vibration between 1000-2200 rpm. Goes away when clutch pushed in. always there when speeding up and slowing down.

Message: 2 things come to mind here. Front bearing in the trany. And you maybe unstalled a rebuilt cluch which is an absolute no-no. Most people no nothing and rev the engine repetedly trying to go. Lots of smoke but worse is the heat crystalizes the metal. Just my opinion without seeing/driving the rig

Message: flywheels warp and crack
they should always be cut or replaced with a
new centerforce clutch and presure plate
this is were the vib most likly is
the trans itself being the cause would be very
unusual and unlikely

Message: I excluded the flywheel. Reason was I would think he tried to rev it with cluch in and would know without question it was the flywheel. I guess ya never know though.

Message: The clutch was put in new. It pulls good, it will vibrate in neutral if you rev to 1500rpm but will go away when clutch pushed in. I also found some problems with the exhaust that i am going to fix this week. Seems like the place that put my magnaflow and duals on used solid mounts and both pipes broke at the muffler, welded them last week they broke again. Also just got a 3.90 l.s., i have a 3.20, how much will my speedo be off?

Message: The truck has 156,000 miles on it. I know its hard to explain on here but its been a hard problem. I work in a shop and we all have driven it and checked everything from u-joints to bell housing bolts. Everything seems good. The only thing is the output shaft seems to have some play in it. Is this normal? I love the truck and this is making me hate it. When I get between 1000-2000 rpm it seems like it is missing but its not.

Message: Your last discription fits what Larry said (J&J). Sounding more and more like a fly wheel problem.

Message: Sorry. Reread it and I got it backwards. What your saying ELIMINATES the flywheel. If in fact it is what I think it is either the new cluch plate or the front bearing in trany. I'm wondering about the pilot bearing too.

Message: My experience with a vibrating clutch and flywheel is it vibrates and chatters when letting off the clutch. It doesn't do it at that time. It will do it in 2,3,4,5 gear. Cant really feel it in 1st. you can be in 5th and slow to 1000 rpm slowly accelerate and it with vibrate really bad through the shifter. It doesn't shake the truck at all. Just feels like a constant miss. Actually you can feel a little in the truck but worse in the shifter.

Message: It has a new pilot bearing. We were thinking the bolts might have possibly started backing out of the pressure plate. The clutch doesn't pull off the floor anymore. Its about halfway up now.

Message: definately pull it. larrys right, flywheel screwed, maybe pilot bearing. did you get it ground? i have had this happen once, machine shop broke a dowel pin, left it in, and machined over it, that made a 'wonderful' vibration, couldve killed someone, nasty r&r job. i'll give all you guys a tip,for what it costs to grind a flywheel, if its a hydrauic clutch, get a new flywheel. napa has them aftermarket, alot cheaper than you would think. plus no down time waiting for the damn machinist.
happy holidays guys

Message: Not to sure about the flywheel, the vib stops when clutch pushed in. The wheel is still going when you do that.

Message: Finally got rid of the vibration. The trans mount was weak and the exhaust hanger that the muffler shop used were solid to the frame. Changed to a flowmaster single out 40 series with stock tail pipe and hangers now the vibration gone.
