Message: I need to know what exactly i need to do to increase mpg on my 99 dak. Its 2wd and im getting like 14-15 mpg combined. Judging from what i see this is a bit below average. I mean if i could get 19 combined that would be outsanding. What parts do i need to replace or get. Runs fine was thinking o2 but no codes.

Message: A bad O2 sensor will not always set a code.
Also, if we knew which engine you had.

Message: if you're over about 80k miles on it change the O2. you can get them at a decent price from summit. buy the NGK OEM replacement one.
tune up with quality parts and proper tire alignement and inflation will help with mileage.
mileage always gets worse during the winter months.

Message: yep 3.9, i just recently got this so i was thinking just to change the o2. seems to have fairly new wires but since i dont know how it was treated previously maybe i should just drop the 100 change plugs wires cap roder and o2. I believe i need my toe aligned too due to outer tire wear. Thanks anything else appreciated.

Message: get a cap and rotor with brass contacts, NGK v-power plugs and a decent set of wires. you could also switch to synthetic fluids too.

Message: I have tried the synthetic but is causing leaking from detergents. I am gonna try a blend next. I do need to change my differential fluid though any ideas on what to use there?

Message: SYN does not cause leaks but due to thE LUBRICATING Quality, it will increase leaks in existing ones or borderline ones. If your talking rubber type gaskets or seals, hang in there. the syn will soften and expand them for you. What the syn does do is clean the junk from the gaskets/seals that is preventing leaks. Give it some time.
