Message: Standards cap/rotor are blue with brass . might be there standard or made by standard . Just for thought, I have always liked standard but nobody around here handles them any more.
So many problems .... So little time

Message: If your Standard is the same Standard that Advance sells online, I think they have good products, but they are always much more expensive that anyone else.

Message: We only had one place that sold the standard product (HO Parts) They closed doors never even trying to sell and retired. It was the best parts house in town and very busy. At that time there was a lot of standard parts. Caps, rotors, points and the list goes on. At that time I had my shop and the standard was priced comperable to Borg Warner. Standard seemed to last longer.

Message: As I said it is a std standard also a part of
blue streak they make caps rotors points cond.
for all the older inboard boats and is a better
part than the nehoff or other points and
condensers you can get that will fit
There points also have stifer spring so they
wont float at high rpm caps and rotors made
to a tighter tollerance its just better parts
In the boats the cheaper points would float
and cause the motor to break up at high rpm
and where is a boat running 3000rpm or more
all day long also the cheaper points the rubbing
blocks would ware faster and knock the dwell
(gap) off in just a matter of weeks
I got the cap today before I put it on I did some
mesuring the distance between the incerts was the
same but the rotor button was .015 longer this
would reduce the distance it has to arc accros
I was pleased with this.
reducing this distance may just make them last
longer and on a stock ign get a little more
volts accross
Its like $4 to $6 more but what the hell worth
a try
Its on and running great also finaly got my new
MSD 8207 coil on today
The rotor is also blue
