Subject: Engine coolant.. IP: Logged
Message: Posted this on the general board but its prob more relevant here as its a V6 DAK...
Anyway, im getting ready to pull of my cylinder heads but first of course i need to drain all the coolant out.
i drained the radiator and pulled the plug on the driver side of the block but the book says there is one on each side. Problem is the only thing i can determine that would be the other plug is almost completely covered by the engine mount.
How necessary is it to open both plugs? Can i get by with just doing the first? i appreciate any and all responses...

Message: It should be fine. If you drained the radiator you should be low enough to take heads off without getting water everywhere. At least thats all I do and I am a auto tech.

Message: Unless dodge somehow manages to keep the level of coolant higher on one side of the engine than the other and defies gravity, pulling the block plug out on one side only is fine. If you are concerned, jack up the opposite side of the truck to get more of the juice outta it.

Message: Well you never know, with the new German engineering, they may be able to defie gravity.
