 Subject: 3.9 with 35's anyone got um?

i am wondering if anyone has anything bigger than 35's with there 3.9's? i got a 97 4x4 3.9 5 speed with 3 inch body running on 33 ssr's.
i think alot of the guys with 4.7's run um but im not quite there yet. thanks. -shappi

How are the 33's peroformance wise. I'm thinkin that's gonna be my next set but I dont want to feel like a slug.

well if ya run larger tire basicly its gonna take more gas to get them things spinnin.... rotating weight..... now if ya go with a bigger tire thats gonna weight more.... go with a rim that weights less then stock.... for EXAMPLE stock wheel and tire weights 50lbs... you step up to a larger tire on your stock rims and now it weights 55lbs... now 5 lbs doesnt seem like alot but you can knock off 2.5 to 3 lbs by going with a lighter rim and be back closer to your 50lb mark.... might seem like alot work to do but it could be worth it.... but in all realaity.... heavier wheel combo... just add engine bolt-ons to make more power....

i got those new 33x12.50 ssr's. with a 5-speed i get roughly 17 with 50/50 highway and town driving. thy weigh 60 pounds a piece. the futura dakota rvt tires i had on there they weighed roughly 35 and i got every bit of 18 to the gallon. but remember folks i got a 5 speed. its not really a slug but when i jump into my gen2 2wd and get 22mpg it sure is nice to have some pep in ur step.know what i mean vern?-shappi

I run 35's with the v6 and stock gears, works good. I am swapping the rear axle out for one stuffed with 4.88 and a spool so I can step up to 37's. run them. I have no issue with them at all
