I need a pulley or bearing for my A/C commpressor. It's a 1997 3.9L V6 and it screeches like a banshee. Anyone know of any websites that sell the pulley or bearing?

Pull the bearing and take it to NAPA . they should have one. Myself, I go to a place here called Bearings Inc. They carry all the major brands of bearings. there should be a bearing distributer somewhere near you.

So many problems .... So little time

As an aircraft mechanic, I hate to pull a part without having the replacement ready to install. Do you think NAPA has a wide enough selection of bearings for this pulley?

Do you know if Bearings Inc. has a website?

I can't answer that for your area. My town is 35,000 in size and NAPA carries a lot of bearings. Also here they get over night service from there own full state centrally located warehouse.
It isn't all that hard to remove that pully with bearing. It's possibly on yours, you can read the brand and part number on the bearing by only removing the nut and spacer/washer. I have not done a dakota compresser yet. Reguardless not hard to remove the pully, read the bearing and replace it after making a few phone calls in attempt to locate one.

Correction to last post. It is the Belt Tensioner Bearing that is squealing like a pig.

Rereading the original post a few times I'd say he could be talking about either/or.... If it is the tensioner bearing,a simple phone call will tell him if they got it or get it ordered . The explanation of the problem was a bit confusing.

hi, i work for napa, bearing probably not available separtely. it's not something we can get by application, we need the numbers on the bearing. you can either get a reman compressor, or ask for a a/c compressor clutch, it has the idler bearing in it. if it's a tensioner pully, no bearing available. you either get a new pulley with a bearing in it, ther like 14 bucks, or if you have more than 50 k on the truck, get a complete unit, about 75 bucks. hope this helps, Tom
