I know that there have been hundreds of posts on different catback systems and they have helped me narrow my selection to Gibson single swept side or Dynomax Super Turbo. I can handle a small increase in noise but not much (my wife will want me to yank it off). Any feedback on which is quieter?

Well, I have the Gibson, and it's not very loud at idle or part throttle, but sounds cool at WOT. I like it because it sounds about the same as my Charger R/T did (I have a 5.2 in my Dak).

peaople who like loud exhaust say that gibson is quiet. which is true when compared to a flowmaster...but its by no means quiet. people hear me coming and $hit. I think borla is pretty quiet.

Rabbit,

I have a gibson. Alittle louder than stock at idle. Going through the gears, she'll rumble and at cruising it sounds like a hum. I don't know about Dynomax or borla. My wife doesn't particularily (sp?) like it but we can talk and not scream at each other. She says its my truck. My 1.5 year old son doesn't seem to notice. I guess Ll Blackdak had a gibson and didn't like it. I know gibson doesn't resonate in the cabin and I guess borla doesn't either. Good luck.

DynoMax is the answer. I had one on my V-6 ClubCab for 4 years. Nice rumledy idle note (many people assumed it was a V-8), and nice rumble up through the gears, but on the highway it was a dream..... You could talk normally, listen to CD's at low volume, whatever. Hardly noticeable. When you stand on it, it does sing out, though. But you won't stand on it while trying to talk quietly to your wife, anyhow, will you?

Dynomax Superturno is the same muffler used on the 5.9L engines in the RT Dakotas. Nice and throaty and definite seat of the pants inmprovement on a V6 like mine.

no, I like it, I'm just saying that it is very different sounding when you hit the gas. I think it sounds cool though. sort of like a mustang.
