Subject: OBD1? IP: Logged
Message: My truck is throwing the code 22 after I turn the switch on and off 3 times. I think it has something to do with the volts running to the temp sensor. I have replaced both the temp sensors that it is talking about and I am still getting the code, I am confused?!? Yes I did reset the computer. What to do next? Maybe short in wires possibly? Any help would be appriciated. By the way the temp sensors I replaced where right by the thermostat housing, one to the right and one to the left. Will it affect my performance any? Also I am getting one about the Emissions Maintence reminder light? What the heck is that? Will it affect my performance to?

Message: Check ground connections , in particular
one connects to back of alternator bracket.
Computer ground..
I was not aware of that year truck having , but
possible - sensor on or near centre of rear
axle may be faulty re code 62.

Message: Have you reset the computer/PCM?
If not, do it.
Remove neg battery cable.
Leave it off for 20 minutes.
Turn Ignition Key to start, and hold for 30 seconds.
That will drain all the electricity from the pcm, and reset it.
Install cable.
Start truck and let it idle for 2 minutes. Do not give it any gas for the 2 minutes. PCM needs to relearn idle.
Check for codes.

Message: Does that mean I need a new PCM? PCM, is that the computer? Is it expensive and where should I pick one up?
Thanks,
