My fuel light is on with fuel tank of gas.It has a new fuel pump sending unit from autozone about a year old.Could it be the sending unit.thanks

Possible -positioning of the fuel pump
assy - float may be "jammed" - unable to rise.
Did you run it low just before this happened ?
Otherwise - possible short in wiring...
