Subject: For Sale - Modified Engine and Much More IP: Logged
Message: Hi, I know I haven't been here in a long time, but thought you should know that I have decided to sale my engine and other parts with it out of the truck I had wrecked. Here is the listing on Ebay ---
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Built-Dodge-3-9l-Magnum-Engine-99-With-OTHER-Parts_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33615QQihZ015QQitemZ250036416702QQrdZ1
I have set the reserve to $2000 (well below what I've got in it and what it's worth) I also think that who ever does wind up getting it will be very satisfied with it. It has never acted up or had any problems. Even while letting it sit, it would still fire right up and run great.
If you have any questions on it, feel free to email me --- emh35@netzero.com
Thanks,
Greg

Message: Ok, it seams that it didn't post correctly...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=250036416702&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=015
AND still doesn't post correctly... You should be able to just click, pull and highlight all of it to copy then paste it... If that doesn't work just type in Built Dodge 3.9l in the search function on Ebay...
Thanks,
Greg

Message: You're welcome. Here's how you make it a clickable link.
To make a link, write it out like this, but replace the [ ] with< >
[A HREF="http://www.yoursitehere.com"]www.yoursitehere.com[/A]
The section in the "" is the actual web address and the part just before [/A] is what will appear on the post.

Message: That is one tight ass engine. Wish I was closer. What part number for the lifters were you going to buy? Anyway I can get a full list of everything you did to it? Also, what kind of horsepower did you get or did you not get a chance to find out?

Message: I never got a chance to have it dynoed... If the wreck had taken place about a year later, it would have been chassi dynoed, but since it was wrecked and sitting here at the house, I wound up dynoing my muskrat... Funny thing is, is that another guy dynoed his cobra of same year model (98') and hardly got any better than my pretty much stock GT... Guess you just bought a name that year :))
As for mods and everything that was done to it, I don't really know if I can remember exactly everything, but I'll try... The lifters I had ordered were coming from Sam over at socaldakotas.com --- Crowler performance lifters, can't remember price...
Mods are pretty much this ---
Double roller timing chain
Cam
Cam degreed - +2 degrees key used
Custom Crowler pushrods to keep valve geometry
Guide Plates
Crowler 1.6's
Extra angle added to valves and valve seats
Ported intake and exhaust
Heads shaved .020"
Hughes stage 1 intake with inlets opened up for TB (dual 52mm bores)
Holley dual 52mm TB with S bolt, lips shaved, air horns removed, torque step removed and ported
Cold air intake with K&N XTreme filter
Gibson Catback 2.5" system
Gibson Headers
Carsound Cat
All new sensors
TPS set to .9V
Crank sensor advanced more than most "plastic on sensor shaved to allow for more movement"
IMT sensor relocated and kept stock for whatever mood I was in "easily switched" :)
Amsoil Dual Bypass oil system used with 0-30 SD/racing oil
Cylinder Heads is where all of your power and efficientcy is... Then of course you have to have everything work together with them and I think I chose this package fairly well on this engine, considering how it performed... I could have gone really overboard on the porting setup, but for all around driving and regular performance, this porting configuration worked out great, even if it does fall off a little at high lift... I was working on a truely "out there" port configuration, but never got a chance to finish it, where I completely removed the pushrod side of the runner and welded a tube in for the pushrod to be located in. Of course this would have probably been an extremely high rpm naturally aspirated configuration, but if you had a turbo or SC setup, it would have really blown away the competition ;)
The particular setup that is on the engine being sold is honestly about the best configuration I could find and still work with a stock port. I went in and welded to bring out the runner to a big size, but air flow fell off bad from the loss in velocity that these ports seem to love so much, on the one configuration I was trying out... I guess I flowed 20 different ports in what time I had to flow them and this one didn't always flow the max, but it did flow the highest at lower lifts, which is where flow really matters...
Hope this helps a little...
Greg
