Message: i just bought a cat back system from Pypes Performance Exhaust. paid around 375 for dual cat back system with tips. nice idle tone and mild accelleration tone. highway cruising speed quiet not loud its to the point where you can hear yourself think but still hear the rumble from the exhaust. over 2500 rpm it can get a slight ricer sound but it quiets off quickly at 3000rpm. tone level from 1-10 on their scale as 1 the quietest to 10 the loudest it rated a 7. the kits fits nicely with the tailpipes and doesnt call for removing the spare. the kit isnt designed for the lowered trucks. the muffler is an oval case and it will rub the drive shaft. i had to heat it up and dent it in. my truck isnt lowered by aftermarket but by some chance the SLT models have a lower stance then most sport models... but over all the kit does fit with some modification to the muffler. if your a 4x4 its a perfect fit or raised 2x4. for that being the only modification it sounds great and will sound better when my V8 is ready to drop in. website is www.pypesexhaust.com

Message: My pacesetter preditor dual had that loud
rap at 2000 to 3000rpm
What I did was turn the 3" stainless tips into
a set of resonators
2 2 1/4 o/d pipes
flanged 1 end to fit into tip centered with allen
head round top screws driled 4 rows of 5 hole
each row 1/2 1" fiberglass and put them in
The loud rap is gone just a deep melow rap now
perfict without effecting flow
I have seen many systems for these trucks some
are so loud and ratty sounding its terible
you don't need to shatter windows to have the
flow and performance you want
I hate that than the guys who have them are
always getting on it not even knowing it sounds
like crap to the guy standing there when you
go by

Message: well today i got the truck from the dealer to finish taking off what things i didnt want to go witht the truck and the exhaust was one of things i took off that i cant use on my 02 Durango... its for sale and i'll post once it sold.... its only been on the truck for 2 weeks.....
its a Pypes Performance Exhuast 3inch into dual 2.5inch out.... will need a new 2.5inch to 3inch adapter... tailpipes are finshed off with a flat rectangle designed tip that you might see on a newer camaro... the exhaust comes with clamps and hangers needed to fit the system... muffler has been slightly shapped to fit a lowered 2wd dakota but still all in perfect shape... paid 375 for the whole kit but sence it used im asking 300 cause its still like damn near new... i live the baltimore, maryland area will travel too state line to meet buyer if near the surrounding states... no shipping

Message: My neice has a 03 durango with a 4.7 nothing
done to it and she gets 20 21 mpg
But the brakes were shot at just under 40,000
miles she bought it new
the 4.7 is a nice little motor as far as logevity
don't know yet But I have seen a few with just
over 100,000 and still running well
this is her second durango both had the 4,7 not
bad for the big heavy truck she has the 9 pass
seating 3.55 antispin well she has 6 brothers
and 2 sisters and needs all the seats LOL
almost forgot the only other prob she had was the
trans started shifting funny and down shifting
for no reason, the speed sensor on the trans went
bad other than that very reliable truck man
they ride a lot nicer than the short daks like
a cadilac LOL
I always teas her and tell her she should have
just bought a limo
