Message: I hit the rev limiter every time I shift @ 5300!!
Soon as I get a backup PCM I will be having KRC reprogram it for a much higher rev limiter.
You may be totally stock but I bet you still have power at your grandpa'ish shifting of 4000.lol
Good luck, hope this helped, Scott

Message: yeah, it wont let u wreck it. like he said...5300...although mine is auto....can't really hit 5300 while I'm driving. we'll actually I once hit 112 in third gear(really hard with a V6 4x4 CC, was on a really smooth road) with OD off, won't go that fast in 4th. but anyway I assume my speed is limited to 115 and that is about where it would be at 5300 rpm in third

Message: Black, I have an auto also!!
I manually shift mine most times and I hold the gear untill its @ about 5200.
I liked that thomas "eveil grin" picture me doing that after that last line, lol.
Like Black said, mopar puts the rev limiter so low you really cant do any damage to your truck going over 4000, plus its more fun!!.

Just curious.
Take care, Scott

Message: Uhhhh...stock cam/head power range ends at 4800rpm. Drops off quickly after 4900....why shift at 5300+ when you can't use it past 5100?

Message: I do have a very modified intake, Tb and MP valve springs and I can tell you mine isnt out of breath @ 4900.
I can run my 340 Challenger right up to valve float and I can feel the power let go @ about 7500, but the little Dak is still strong @ the crappy 5300 cut off.
Guess what I'm saying is I know what it feels like when a engine runs outa breath and mine dosnt, just factory set limit.

Message: well Fred I know in bedrock where you and barney need to use your feet to move your stone car the don't have automatic transmissions. but here in 2002 AD we have a litttle array of modes to put our magical gas cars in in order to get them to do certain things aka
P R N D 2 1
and O/D off which keeps you out of 4th
do i have to spell it out or you get it yet???

I honestly don't know if I would be happy, but really I'll let you drive my truck you'll see how slow it is. My grabdfather told me it was weak when he drove it.

Message: Scott..i dont think KRC offers anything for us. I beleive that Marty sends the pcm's out to Tom at mike leach and co. I have talked to tom before and hes a great guy but he just doesnt have the base programs for the v6. He checked my numbers for me and couldnt find anything. Its worth a chance to give him a call and see if for some odd reason he has your base program. I'm sending my computer out to ase for a custom tailored chip for my application. Their run of the mill chip runs about 320 and the custom one runs about 100 more. That 100 bucks includes dyno tuning it buyt since we are on the opposite cost we are out of luck on that part.

Bring it by, I'll flogg it and see what it feels like, I'll even set the voltage, relocate the IAT (if you have a ram air) and possibly give you one of my modified V6 TB's, that is if your close enough?
