I was looking on summitracing.com and came across a 5.2/5.9 Holley 52mm tb. I was wondering if any one has tried using it on a 3.9 and if it may perform better than an f&b or fastman tb.

Here's the part# HLY-112-557

no to big for the 6

the manifold bores are 48mm going with a biger
plate size having the step under it hurts low
end power

The V8 bodies are 50mm plate with a 48mm torque
step most trucks low end stays the same mid and
top gains some show a low end loss but if you
open the bores to 50mm than they work fine

fastman and F&B show gains from off idle to
redline average 15 to 18 rear wheel hp gain and
20 25 torque

These 2 bodies are so close in perf the F&B
does have just a little better response more
crisp its hard to notice

I run all F&B my 4x4 stock internals and my 3.58
stroked motor 48mm my 4.0 stroked motor the intake
is opened to 50mm with a 50mm F&B

One nice thing about the F&B is they are clear
anodized and never oxidize they look new for ever
more expensive but you are getting a brand new
body machined out of a solid chunk of alm

The fastman are reworked cast alm they are also
an excellent choice I guess it just a matter of
preferance

If you ever get a chance to talk with
Bruce Bridges hes a great guy designer of the
flowmetrics F&B bodies he knows his stuff

That 52mm Holley Throttle body is even to big for a stock 5.2 or 5.9. The 52mm will work well on a heavily modified 5.2 or 5.9
