 Subject: Need engine advice

Looking at picking up an 88 dodge dakota long bed. I believe it is a 4x4 and will confirm later today. this truck doesn't run and i was looking at repalacing the engine. What engines bolt up? Is there an engine that will give me bettr performance over another? please advise.

88 to 91 All throttle body injection roller
lifter motors 125hp 175 torque
You could also use the same 88 to 91 318 will
bolt right in but than you will also have to
change the computer to the V8 comp and use the
V6 flex plate flywheel depending if its stick
or auto trans
