fabtech makes a lift kit for the 2wd dakotas.... now for more power... there's not a whole lot of cheap upgrades but theres a few.... cold air intake, larger TB (V8 TB, f&b TB, Fastman TB), 1.7 Harland Sharp Roller Rockers (can be found on summitt racings web site for under 300).... now in the links page there is a website link for Hughes Engine... they spealize in port and grinding the factory intakes for more and regrinded cams for more power and so on... the 3.9 can only go so far befor you really need to go major on internal work for more power... guy named Larry from J and J that belongs to this site he's known to be the 3.9 man on here for making 3.9 strokers... so theres a few hits on your question...

Heres how in this order

crank sensor and IAT mod
TPS .75 volts

cold air
fastman or F&B throttle body
1.7 rockers
FMS injectors
92 to 95 19 #
00 and up 21 #

Intake gasket match

headers
high flow cat
low restriction catback

comp upgrade
Jet stage 2
super chips
flash
depending on year
now burn it better
MSD 6a and a blster coil good wires

just start doing them as you can afford them
once done they all compliment each other you
can take a stock average rear wheel hp of 120
140 and rase this to 175 if you take it farther
with shorting the intake runners removing the
devider remove all the bumps and casting leavings
from the head ports and polish not porting you
can get the stock internal V6's upto 200 RWHP

This is a very nice improvement over stock any
farther than that internal mods will be needed

I just ran a 191 on the dyno I was 186 189 this
was from putting the MSD back on 79 degrees
and 64% humidity

the 186 and 189 were run on a 70 degree day
43% humidity so I would say the IGN gave me
probably 8 to 10 ponies

This was with the NGK FR5 at .050 I will be
playing with the gap this was just a starting
point between .050 .060 they will peak every
truck is a little diff

TCI 220500 shift kit to 98
99 and up TransGo TFOD 518

3.91 gears over the std 3.55 are just right for
towing and still get good mileage raises rpm
aprox 300

Use the 4x4 high stall converter around $200
2 wheel 900 rpm
4x4 1200 rpm

Let The Work Begain LOL
